Drip Essential Oils Into Salt, Then Shake It In A Plastic Baggie For Your Own DIY Bath Salts

After a stressful day, there's nothing better than taking a long, hot bath.

Baths can be relaxing and calming, and they're a nice way to take some "me time."

Some people choose to put bubbles in their baths, while others prefer to use bath bombs. Lots of people have one favorite bath addition, though: bath salts.

Instead of buying bath salts at the store, though, make your own! Salt has a lot of uses, including health benefits!

It's actually surprisingly simple to make bath salts at home — you probably even have most of the supplies at home.

And bathing with DIY bath salts is really great for you. Epsom salts, which are in most bath salts, have a ton of health benefits, including stress relief, body relaxation, muscle and nerve function, relieving pain and muscle cramps, and more.

Read below to learn how to make your own DIY bath salts!

In order to make these DIY bath salts, you'll need to following items:

  • Epsom salts (1 cup per jar)
  • Food coloring
  • Baking soda (1 tbsp. Per jar)
  • Coarse sea salt (1.5 cups per jar)
  • Essential oils (4-8 drops per jar)
  • Labels
  • Plastic sandwich bags

Next, add some drops of your favorite essential oils — some favorites are lavender, peppermint, and citrus.

If you want the salts to be less fragrant, only add four drops. For more fragrant bath salts, add closer to eight drops.
