Sea lions are often called the puppies of the sea, but why?
Sure, their faces have a vaguely similar snout, and they are quite cute. But dogs are man's best friend! How do they compare?
Photographer Kinnara Bosworth found out exactly why these sweet creatures are given this affectionate nickname. She traveled to the Galápagos Islands and came face-to-face with some sea lion pups. She documented her experience in some gorgeous photos.
When asked what it was like to get up close and personal with these puppies of the sea, Kinnara told LittleThings that, "I had such an amazing experience in the Galápagos. Going there, I was not expecting to get so close to sea lions. However, they are such friendly animals! They sometimes come right up to you, posing and making noises. It was so peaceful being around these animals and it was clear that they were happy in their environment. I never realized how amazing the Galápagos were until I went there myself."
