After 68 years of marriage, Alice and Webb Gemmel know better than anyone else the ups and downs of being married. With five children, 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren, the Oxford, Michigan, couple is now part of a big, happy family and are more in love than ever — but at the beginning, even this perfect couple had their fair share of struggles.
“We had hard times starting out, one junky house after another with rats in the ceilings,” Webb told Babble. “Times were tough, but we made a great life together.”
At the request of their granddaughter Tara, the two lovebirds held a romantic photo shoot, where all of their adorable antics were caught on camera thanks to Developed Photography by Andrea.
"These two are the most precious pair I've ever witnessed," Andrea said. "Growing old is a privilege, [and] doing it with the love of your life is a blessing!"
As for marriage advice, Webb kept it nice and simple: "Let the lady be the boss at home and if both are working, share the duties." I can't help but agree!
