Tippi Hedren was born Nathalie Kay "Tippi" Hedren on January 19, 1930.
In her 20s, Tippi became a fashion model and was discovered by Alfred Hitchcock after appearing on a television commercial.
Working with Hitchcock, Tippi became a huge superstar.
She starred in The Birds and Marnie, and has since starred in over 80 films and television shows.
On August 9, 1957, Tippi and her then-husband Peter Griffith had their daughter, Melanie Richards Griffith.
Tippi raised her young daughter on her animal preserve, Shambala, which was dedicated to protecting endangered, exotic big cats.
As an adolescent, Melanie looked strikingly like her famous mother. She also followed in her mother's career footsteps.
In 1984, Melanie started gaining national recognition with her role in Body Double.
In 1988, she starred in Working Girl, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win.
The next year, she gave birth to her daughter, Dakota Johnson, with then-husband Don Johnson, of Miami Vice fame.
Dakota Mayi Johnson was born on October 4, 1989.
Like her mother and grandmother, Dakota has been pursuing a career in acting ever since she was a child.

In 1999, Dakota starred in Crazy In Alabama alongside her mom, Melanie.
While the two women aren't carbon copies today, Dakota is a dead ringer for her mom at the same age.
