Tiny houses are a huge trend around the country right now. People love the idea of living a nomadic life and traveling around the country with their families.
We've seen a lot of tiny homes here at LittleThings — in every different shape and size. From tiny triangular houses, to renovated RVs, to vans, we've covered almost all of them.
One of my absolute favorites is the school bus tiny home — something eclectic and retro, yet still large enough to house an entire family.
What I haven't seen before is a converted shuttle bus.
These buses, which are much smaller than school buses and RVs, still have the headroom and space that make them great for living in while still being small enough to easily drive around.
David and Madison Bowman used to live in New York City with their two young kids, but now they live in a 120-square-foot converted shuttle bus.

The Bowman family started an Instagram account for their new lifestyle, The American Field Trip.
When they first bought the bus, in March, 2017, they wrote:
Our new wheels. This big blue beauty is an as-yet-unnamed 2007 Ford E-450 shuttle bus, 25-feet-long, and about 120 sq. feet inside.
In her former life she served as a city bus in Tempe, AZ; now she’s gearing up to become a party wagon for our trip.
But first we have to DIY her into a home on wheels.
Next, they started renovating the bus.
They tore out the seats and wheelchair lift, took out the window frames and ceiling panels, and pulled up the flooring.
Then they started rebuilding, putting in floors and decorating their new moveable home.
When it was completed, the van looked absolutely stunning.
They explained:
Here it is!! Our (almost) completed build.
It's still a work in progress but we're pretty dang proud of where it ended up.
It’s pretty amazing what you can do with a little help from the internet.
We had very little building experience at the beginning of this process and now we feel pretty confident in figuring out just about anything.
Don’t be intimidated! Get in there and make it happen!
