Hurricane Irma may have been downgraded to a tropical depression, but that doesn't mean that it's not still destroying much in its path. People are still attempting to flee to higher ground while residents of Florida have just started cleaning up the damage the storm caused.
A student attending Georgia Southern University knew she needed to pack up quickly as the storm approached. Jessica Lewis' plan was to escape to Atlanta with her dog, though there was one problem: she still had class the day she needed to leave.
Not wanting to skip the lecture, Jessica decided to take a chance and email her professor about the possibility of taking her adorable pup to class so that she could immediately leave for Atlanta afterward.
Needless to say, she was totally stunned by the professor's response! You can find out what he said by scrolling below.
Jessica Lewis was one of the many people trying to escape Hurricane Irma as the storm moved north.
The Georgia Southern University student didn't want to miss class the day she was supposed to leave for Atlanta, so she asked her professor if he would allow her to bring her dog to class.
She tried to convince him by calling him "cool" and by sending him a few pictures of her pup to prove that she was well-behaved.
The professor's response shocked her. He wasn't fazed by her compliment: instead, he was convinced by those adorable pictures!
After all, who can say no to that face?
The pooch joined Jessica in class and proved to be very well-behaved indeed.
The pup only occasionally asked her owner for some kisses, but we're sure the rest of the class was delighted by her presence.
This professor definitely deserves a Teacher of the Year award for this kind gesture!
