Woman Attempts To ‘Rehome’ Huskies And They Wind Up Dumped In Park With Note And All Their Toys

A California woman named Madeline thought she had found the perfect forever home for her two beloved huskies after she couldn't take care of them anymore. A friend's mom agreed to take them, and she said she'd even let Madeline come over whenever she wanted to play with them.

However, things soon took a dark turn.

On October 2, 2017, Mona Ahmed, who is the manager of Woodward Dog Park and the founder of Fresno Furry Friends, received a call about two huskies abandoned at the dog park.

When she came by, she assumed the owner was the one who had dumped them there with their food and toys. She posted about the dogs on her Facebook page and the story soon took off.

Madeline ended up seeing a story about the dogs and realized the two dogs in question were hers. She was appalled that the woman who promised to care for her dogs turned around and left them at the park with all of the toys and food Madeline had brought with her for them.

Madeline is still in the process of trying to figure out what happened, but the dogs are in good care right now.

Mona Ahmed is the manager of Woodward Dog Park in Fresno, California. On October 2, 2017, she received a phone call about two abandoned huskies at the park.

Mona posted about the dogs on her Facebook page in hopes to find a loving forever home for them.

Her post read:

So I get called around 8pm from Woodward Park Dog Park that somebody left two huskies and we are going to drop it to SPCA. I told them please do not keep them for a night let me see what I can do or find out if somebody must have lost them or somebody found them and left it at the park.
So the person said okay I can keep it for a night I requested for pictures. Then she called me again she said oh my God Mona there is a note so I rushed to Woodward Park and found this.

It turned out to be handwritten note on the back of an envelope — and what it said was heartbreaking.

This is Layla, one of the Huskies who was dumped at the park.

Jada is Laya's sister. Mona took both huskies and put them in her car. The person who left them also wrote a note on the back of an envelope.

The note on the back of the enveloped IDed both dogs and asked for them not to be split up.

"Please don't split us up. Layla gets scared without her sister," it read.

But the note wasn't all that was left with them.

The dogs also had a big carton of food as well. An assortment of their toys was found next to the huskies, too.

Thankfully, Mona was able to find a foster home for the huskies who were dumped at the park.

After Mona's post circulated around the internet, a woman named Madeline stepped forward and said the dogs were hers.

But that's where it gets complicated: she didn't abandon them at the park. Instead, she was appalled to find out that the woman who she met to take them left them there.

A Facebook user saw a comment that caught her eye. It was Madeline saying that the dogs are hers and she was looking to rehome them when the woman who was adopting the huskies dumped them at the park.

"I thought I found the perfect home for them where I was able to still visit," she wrote.

Madeline's mom Lisa also came forward to express how upset she was that the woman who was supposed to be their new loving mom ended up abandoning them at the park.

Lisa explained:

These dogs were not abandoned. My daughter had to move. She made arrangements with a woman named Teresa Rodriguez, the mother of a friend of my daughters. She wanted to take both dogs this way my daughter could still see the dogs and be a part of their lives and get them back when she gets a place that will accept them. She took them to the dog park to play and this woman wanted to meet her there and said she would take them home. When my daughter left the dogs were still playing. The dog beds and food had been loaded in Teresa’s vehicle, along with the envelope and a letter inside explaining what the dogs like and don’t like. This lady had a hard time remembering which one was Layla or Jada so she described them on the envelope. Maddy had hoped this was a good thing, apparently this woman is evil. She responded to my texts and said she was scared that Maddy would be angry that she could not take them so she just left them. She is sick about this. Those dogs have been with her since the beginning. They love her. Please get ahold of maddy or myself so we can work this out. Texting is hard and social media is brutal and cruel. Everyone has an opinion and so many are mean and all based on misinformation.

No matter what, one thing is for sure. People can't believe that someone would just leave dogs at a park.

"Oh my God this is the saddest thing," one Facebook user wrote.

This user was happy that Mona was able to help the dogs despite knowing that someone would just leave dogs in a park.
