Mom-To-Be Posts Terrifying 13-Week Sonogram Photo After Seeing Baby’s Face For The First Time

Going to an ultrasound is an exciting part of any pregnancy. It's when you get to see images of your baby to make sure your little one is totally healthy and growing properly.

For many parents-to-be, sonograms are incredible reminders of the little miracle that's happening inside a mom's body.

Sometimes, though, getting an ultrasound can come with a surprise. For example, this is when parents might learn they're having multiples, or that the gender of their baby wasn't what they expected.

Sharni Turner had a slightly different experience when she went to get her 13-week ultrasound in September.

Sharni was really excited about seeing more pictures of her baby. The previous sonogram image she'd gotten was too early to really see her baby's features.

However, when the ultrasound technician moved the device to show Sharni the front of her baby's face, it revealed just how terrifying human skulls really are!

On September 7, 2017, Sharni Tuner posted a photo of her baby boy's sonogram on Twitter.

To date, the picture has over 11,000 retweets and over 32,000 likes.

Sharni wrote: "My ultrasound technician decided to do a front face image of my baby and it was the most terrifying thing over [sic] seen in my f*ckiNG LIFE."

Sharni also shared the above photo, writing, "Thankfully he's a lot cuter from the side."

One woman responded, "Now we know why folks always show the profile."

You have to admit, the difference between a front-facing photo and profile is pretty drastic!

People were blown away by Sharni's sonogram. Like her, they had no idea that's what babies looked like head-on while in the womb.

But don't worry, her baby is totally normal and healthy. That's actually what babies' skulls always look like in utero.

Sharni is surprised that her tweet got so much attention.

A lot of people were straight up rude to Sharni about her baby, but they clearly didn't understand that this sonogram was completely normal.

And Sharni isn't going to let the haters get her down. She's more excited than ever to welcome her little boy to the world.

Sharni plans on naming her son Elliot Jay when he's born.

Honestly, look how cute baby Elliot is! Even though he's still developing, he's definitely an adorable little munchkin.

And it's obvious that Sharni will be a loving and playful mom to Elliot.

Luckily, most people were really supportive and thought Sharni's sonogram was hysterical, just like she did.

One woman wrote, "It's so strange, yet so incredibly beautiful at the same time! I hope the rest of your pregnancy and delivery goes well beautiful."

Other parents started tweeting their own sonogram photos in response to Sharni.

Lots of the pictures were just as scary as Sharni's — and just as funny.
