Girl Warns Stranger That Her Boyfriend’s Cheating On Her In Library Only To Find Out He’s A Twin

Every woman would agree: being cheated on is the worst.

There's nothing quite like the unique pain of finding out that the person you love is stepping out on you. Anyone who has been cheated on knows what the feeling is like — and oftentimes, the experience leaves them determined not to let others be betrayed in the same way.

Rebekah Pendley experienced a situation like this. Except in her case, it was all a huge misunderstanding.

Rebekah, a college student, spotted an apparently-scandalous sight: a classmate's boyfriend being touchy-feely with another girl in a public place on campus. She decided to go ahead and break the cheating news gently (via Twitter) to her sort-of-acquaintance, Jasmine Rios.

But as it turned out, the supposed "cheater" wasn't a cheater at all — he was the boyfriend's identical twin!

Rebekah and Jasmine, another UTSA student, don't know one another in real life, but they follow each other on Twitter.

Despite the fact that they're not in-real-life friends, Rebekah recognized Jasmine's boyfriend, Isiah Williamson, from the numerous photos the other girl posts of them together.

Rebekah was in the university's library when she saw something shocking: Isiah with another young woman who definitely wasn't Jasmine.

Rebekah quickly snapped a photo and messaged it to Jasmine, explaining the situation and offering to help out.

Rebekah wrote to Jasmine:

Hey girl, I know we don’t know each other, just been mutuals on Twitter for a little bit. I go to UTSA too. But I recognize who I think is your boyfriend in the library from all y’all’s pictures on here and he’s with a girl and he’s being kind of touchy with her, and I really didn’t know if I should message you/how to tell you but I have been full on cheated on before and girl to girl I’d want to know. I hope this doesn’t cause you a lot of problems. I feel really bad but I just thought it’d be wrong to witness it and not say anything, you know? Tell me if you want me to fight him. I’ll be here a while.

Rebekah told Buzzfeed that, before messaging Jasmine, she'd consulted with friends via a group text message to make sure that reaching out to the stranger was the right decision.

"It’s just the right thing to do," she said.

But as it turned out, the entire thing was a hilarious misunderstanding…

Because Isiah is a twin! An identical twin, no less.

Jasmine explained the situation to Rebekah:

“Omg thank you for telling me girl but that’s is not my boyfriend! He has a identical twin brother. That’s his brother in the picture and that’s his gf. But thank you so much girly for telling me even though it’s not my boyfriend because if it was girllll…”

Rebekah, for her part, said she was “so relieved” it was just a mix-up.

Jasmine also shared screenshots of the conversation on Twitter. From there, the story quickly went viral.

"So my boyfriend has a identical twin brother and someone thought my boyfriend was cheating on me but it was really his brother and his girlfriend. Thanks for having my back though girl," Jasmine wrote alongside the screenshots.

What a relief that everything worked out for the best and it was all a big misunderstanding!
