Makeup tutorials have become very popular on YouTube, but it's not every day you see a toddler in front of the camera showing you how to apply your lipstick and eyeshadow.
A mom-of-two named Suella recently began uploading videos of her three-year-old daughter, Liriana, onto Instagram and YouTube. The toddler has quickly became a talented makeup artist.
Followers across the world are impressed with Liriana's skills, and she can often be found happily applying a full face of makeup.
But not everyone thinks Suella should be allowing her daughter to do this, and the critics are coming down on her.
Suella, however, has something to say to those who criticize Liriana for being too young…
Recently, a mom named Suella began uploading photos of her two kids on Instagram.
Now 3-year-old Liriana Dilan is becoming an online sensation, and for a rather controversial reason.
Much of Suella's content features Liriana applying her own makeup with an impressive amount of skill and natural ability.
She can often be seen putting on a full face of makeup, all by herself, from concealer to lipstick and everything in between.
"I just sit there and record her while she does her own thing," Suella told Yahoo Beauty.
"She loves to copy everything that I do. Literally everything has to match with me: Our outfits, makeup, hair.
It's so funny and she's been this way since she was like one-and-a-half."
Liriana's brother, Dilan, also makes appearances on their mom's Instagram and YouTube pages.
Sometimes Liriana uses her talents on Dilon by giving him a makeover.
Makeup tutorials have become extremely popular on YouTube, but it's not often you see toddlers leading these virtual demonstrations.
Liriana's mom films her un-packaging and experimenting with top cosmetic brands like Rihanna's Fenty line, Nars and Anastasia of Beverly Hills.
Not only are these items trendy, but they're also on the expensive side.
Many people are now criticizing Suella for letting Liriana do her own makeup and sharing it with the public.
People say Liriana is simply too young for it, and worry "she will never feel pretty without makeup."
Some even condemn Suella for letting her toddler put potentially "toxic" chemicals on her skin.
But others feel the naysayers should just lighten up.
Some liken a child playing with makeup to playing with crayons or paint — and that it's a completely normal outlet for a kid's self-expression and creativity.
Suella addressed the backlash in an interview with The Independent:
"This whole entire thing is for fun. The people who follow me see my family stories and see my children playing in the park, or reading, or attending preschool I have no idea why some videos of her doing her makeup WILLINGLY on her own is viewed to be so terrible."
I allow it from time to time this isn’t an every day event and after she puts makeup on I give her a bath and it’s over.
I don’t read any of the comments anymore to be honest because people are so quick to negatively judge others and while they’re feuding over a 3 year old doing her makeup, my kids and I are playing or watching a movie together."
