When we found out that some people were lucky enough to have an office dog or work for an organization that brought dogs in as a method of stress relief for employees, we were pretty jealous. But what if hanging out with a dog wasn't just a cool perk of your job but a job in itself? Mutts Canine Cantina, a dog-friendly restaurant and off-leash dog park, is looking for a "puptern" to keep its four-legged customers super satisfied.
Mutts has recently opened a new location in Fort Worth and is looking for a puptern to work at the location. When members bring their dogs to run and play, the puptern will be there to play with and pet the dogs. That's all there is to it! Just in case this doesn't already sound like the best opportunity in the world to you, it gets better. The puptern will be paid — get this — $100 an hour!
Mutts Cantina is a dog-friendly restaurant in Texas that includes a dog run.
It's an awesome place where you can grab a drink and a bite with your friends while giving your pooch a chance to socialize.
Mutts Cantina members can get a daily, weekly, or monthly membership pass that gives them access to the small- and large-breed dog parks, where attendants keep an eye on the dogs while their humans socialize.
It's also just a great place to relax and get some awesome pictures of your dog kicking back.
Mutts Cantina is looking for a "puptern" at its newly opened Fort Worth, Texas, location.
The idea of the puptern came from the close proximity of the Fort Worth location to Texas Christian University.
"[We] wanted to introduce them to [the] Mutts concept and have a great time while doing so, and because of this, the idea of the puptern internship was born,” Kyle Noonan, co-founder of Mutts Cantina explained to the Dodo. “In this role, the puptern will greet Mutts members with a friendly face, while offering to play and pet with their dogs — that's it.”
If you're ready to sign up for the $100-an-hour gig, all you have to do is show your best pictures of you bonding with dogs on Instagram.
Over 1,000 images have been submitted to #muttspuptern, and they're all pretty adorable.
People are proving why they'd be the best professional puppy petter.
Applicants don't have to be students at Texas Christian University. They don't have to be students at all. The only requirement is that applicants be 18 or older.
Submissions for potential pupterns closed on November 12, but we're excited to see who the lucky newest employee is.
Even if you're not in the Fort Worth area or willing to relocate, it's worth checking out for some of the best in dog-snuggling and sloppy wet kiss reception.
We have a feeling the competition among these hundreds of applicants will be a ruff one!
