This Modeling Agency Only Represents People Over The Age Of 45

When you think of a model, you're probably imagining someone impossibly young and beautiful.

While it's true that most people who model clothes are very youthful, there is always an exception to the rule.

In fact, a Russian modeling agency called Oldushka is challenging beauty standards in the fashion industry by only signing models with a little more life experience.

The Moscow-based agency represents faces ranging from 45 years old to 85 years old. Most happen to be on the older side. Apart from one 45-year-old male model named Sergey, everyone else is at least 60.

As you scroll through their photos, you too will realize that age is just a number, and that there is nothing wrong with embracing the changes that come as you age.

Take a look at these beautiful people who are defying age and modern convention.

Oldushka represents 18 models from all over Russia's huge landmass.

Igor Gavar founded the company in 2015, but didn't necessarily set out to start an agency. Instead, it grew from a passion project of his.

As a photographer, he had a hobby of taking pictures of senior citizens and their street style.

Models come from as far as Igor's hometown in remote Siberia to be represented by Oldushka.

As you can see, no one Igor photographs lets their age affect their style — or confidence.

Igor tells Vogue, “I met some very interesting faces, and I wanted to do a separate project with them. A modeling agency became that sort of project.”

Igor's passion project turned into a real business, and many of his models are actively working. Their success is expanding the age range for designers in Russia and all over the world.

For some of Oldushka's models, it's their first time in front of a camera. Others have modeled or worked in the entertainment industry in the past.

Igor is a true believer that good things come to those who wait. He told Vogue, "Beauty — it’s a quality that becomes more valued with years."
