This art project is a messy good time. If the thought of painting your room seems daunting, then this is a great alternative that allows you to embrace the mess. If the prospect of masking tape, newspaper, and protective plastic lining just seems too tedious, then you'll want to try Isabella Clark and Christian Chounding's "paint balloon dart" method.
All you need are balloons (here's how to fill them quickly), darts, and assorted paints. You can use one or as many colors as you like. Be sure to match the color of the balloon to the color of paint as closely as possible so that you can create the color scheme of your choice most accurately. Fill each balloon with paint accordingly, then attach them to the wall in the order you like. You can use tape to place the balloons, but consider that when the tape is removed there will be a blank square. Alternatively you can use thumb tacks for a smoother application and removal.
Next pop the balloons. You can use pins one by one or use darts and make a fun game out of it. Assign points to each color paint and then take aim! The end result is beautiful splatter art that will give your room a whimsical feel.
