And while they may not have always been shared at lightning speed, these fun puzzles have indeed existed for quite some time. In fact, folks have been stumped by a select few optical illusions for centuries.

Recently, a puzzle from 1872 resurfaced, featuring an adorable little fox playing with his woodland friends in a forest adorned with hidden animals and human faces. This puzzle stumped children when it was first released, and now, 144 years later, continues perplexing countless problem-solvers.

Like other puzzles of its kind, this one challenges your eyes and mind to go beyond the mere surface.

American printmakers Nathaniel Currier and James Merritt Ives are probably best known for their beautiful lithograph prints, often capturing famous historical events or simply stunning moments in time.

But Currier and Ives are also quite well known for this image, known as The Puzzled Fox and originally printed in 1872.

Recently, this nearly 150-year-old image featuring a cute little fox has resurfaced on the internet.

And like many of the famous images from Currier and Ives, it was given a colorful update.

But this illustration is more than just a picture… it's a puzzle!

This puzzle has baffled men, women, and children for almost 150 years, as it contains a number of hidden animals and faces.

After much searching, we found 16 different animals and human faces.

Amongst the animals and faces were a diverse spectrum of creatures, including a few birds, a few human faces, one fox, and a variety of other animals.
