It was a perfectly normal weekend afternoon. There had been a heavy snow the night before, but the weather had evened out and it seemed like everyone was looking forward to getting some good rest and relaxation. Suddenly though, Mom heard a very strange noise coming from the side of the house.
At first it seemed quiet, there was some creaking and what sounded like a weird whimper, so Mom must have figured it was the neighbor's dog or something of the sort. She had no idea that there was an animal begging for its life.
The commotion got louder and louder, and when Mom finally peered outside, she couldn't believe her eyes. A baby moose was stuck in her wooden fence!
This baby moose must have been trying to glance over the fence to see what was on the other side. His two front legs slid down through the fence's openings and from that moment on he was completely trapped. This poor little guy had no way of escaping, and it only seemed like it would just be a matter of time before something bad happened.
Thankfully, Mom got Dad and the whole family stepped outside to help their animal friend. They tried to pull the trapped baby out, but when that didn't work, they decided it was best to come in with the big guns!
