If Officer Brian Strockbine ever wondered about the impact he's made through his work, he certainly got an answer from Pete Corelli.
In the CBS New York video below, Corelli tearfully thanks the New Jersey officer for saving his mother's life after her husband reportedly tried to harm her.
He stands in front of the officer to read a letter that says, "We are able to still hug and say 'I love you' to our mom, grams, sister, and friend, and so for that, my family is forever grateful."
Officer Strockbine responded to a call about a woman lying lifelessly on her front lawn. She had no pulse from being beaten so badly. Like many brave cops before him, Officer Strockbine resuscitated the 69-year-old woman by administering CPR.
"We don't do this job to be thanked or for the recognition. I love being a police officer, and that day made me so proud," Officer Strockbine said while fighting back tears. "That day I was so proud to be a police officer. I was proud to work for this department. It just reminded me of why I wanted to do this job."
And what's even more incredible? The cop saved two more people in the days that followed.
