Firemen Miraculously Save Baby Hamsters With Tiny Oxygen Masks!

Firefighters in Washington State responding to a mobile home fire had to use some quick thinking when they found three poor baby hamsters trapped inside.

After they managed to extinguish the fire, firefighters came upon a family of five hamsters trapped in their cage. Two adult hamsters were nestled close to three tiny hamster babies that weren't moving. Using their "Pet Emergency Pocket Guide," the quick-thinking firefighters created makeshift oxygen masks to try to resuscitate the hamsters. Two of the three baby hamsters survived. Sadly, a third died, but the fact that any of this family managed to be saved is nothing short of a miracle.

The Lacey Fire District 3 later tweeted touching pictures of the rescue and cautioned against leaving appliances on when you're not home.

Lacey, Washington Firefighters fought the blazing fire. At this point, they had no idea tiny hamsters were in need of rescue.

The three tiny hamster babies weren't moving, so the firefighters put their life-saving skills to work. The only problem...how do you save a baby hamster? They're far too tiny for traditional CPR.

After consulting with their "Pet Emergency Pocket Guide," the crew was able to use tiny tubes to get oxygen to the two adult and three baby hamsters.

Washington state firefighter Eric Bamer administers oxygen to a baby hamster through a tiny tube. No mask required! He just slipped the tube over the little guy's mouth and gave him sweet, sweet air.

All but one of the hamsters survived thanks to the crew's efforts. The investigation indicates that fire started at the clothes dryer in the laundry room.
