There are some things that you learn the easy way, and some things you learn the hard way.
Learning things like tying your shoes, addition and subtraction, or how to read are all things that you will learn over time, through careful practice. If, as a child, you decide that you are going to learn how to tie your own shoes in one day, all you have to do is sit down on the couch and try, try, and try again. Math and reading will come with practice as well. For some, one will be much easier than the other, but at least they're both things that you can study.
But there are other life lessons that little ones have to learn the hard way. For example, when a child tells their first lie, they're going to learn the hard way that their actions have consequences. Finding out what kinds of foods you like and dislike will also come as a rude surprise. It's the moments like this, though, that might teach us the most.
When this little baby girl was at the airport, she learned the hard way that you do not walk the wrong way on a moving walkway.
She's enjoying defying the forward motion, but when she gets a little too close to the proverbial flame?
Lesson learned! Good thing Dad is there to pick her up and make sure she's all right.
