Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary is the order of 15 nuns. The sisters have devoted their lives to helping others. They run a food pantry for the needy and even spend much of their time driving to folks who are unable to make it out to the pantry. Sister Gertrude is one of the nuns and she often gets stopped on the street for an uncanny resemblance to one famous celebrity. People often think she is Whoopi Goldberg, who famously played a nun in Sister Act.
The order of sisters were invited to The View and got the surprise of their lives. They each appeared onstage in their purple garments. Then all of a sudden, another nun creeped up from behind them. It was Whoopi Goldberg herself wearing the very same uniform. Sister Gertrude gave her doppelgänger a great big hug, but the celebrity appearance wasn't the real surprise.
Whoopi gave the selfless sisters a whopping $10,000 and a brand-new van with a year's worth of gas paid in full. The sisters were in shock of the massive donation! It was one tearful surprise for a group of women who most certainly deserve it. See the moment in the video below.
