Most upcyclers excel at noticing possibility in items that others would only consider trash.
Instructables DIY-er WalaaG is certainly one such upcycler, with a keen eye for potential.
She recently stumbled upon what looked like used to be a cute little bench. Over time, the piece seemed to have fallen into disrepair.
But this handy upcycler knew she could give this tired bench a second chance. She began sanding down each wooden component, laying on new primer, and covering everything in a few fresh coats of paint.
This upcycler was able to turn this previously forgotten gem into a lovely piece of furniture once more.
This DIY-er walked away from her project with an adorable little bench. Not only did she find new purpose for this old item, but she was also able to inject it with her own personal style.

When Instructables DIY-er WalaaG recently came across these remnants of what used to be an adorable bench, she decided to restore the piece of furniture to its former glory.
She sanded down each component, before she reassembled the little bench.
Next, she sprayed the entire piece with primer.
This DIY-er wanted to ensure her new bench would be looking its best from here on out.
The primer helped her new coat of paint stick to the wood beneath.
She then gave her adorable bench two coats of fresh paint.
She lightly sanded the whole piece in between each coat, to ensure a smooth finish.
Not wanting any piece of this bench left untouched, she also refinished its drawer.
She added a decorative knob for extra flair.
As for its old cushion, she decided to treat this piece to new fabric.
She chose a fun, bright red pattern, to contrast the bench's baby blue paint.
Fabric stapled in place and trimmed around its edges, this bench was finally complete!
Thanks to this DIY-er's keen eye and crafty talents, you'd never know this bench had once been abandoned.
