Teacher Tells Student To Cover Up Her Dress

Tiffani Taylor was excited to go to prom like any other student would be. She bought a beautiful gown and headed off to the dance with her Maryville High School peers. When she showed up, a teacher took one look at her and made a comment that left Tiffani in tears. We've seen this kind of bullying before, but from students not teachers.

The teacher told her, "Us big girls gotta cover up." The teacher believed Tiffani was showing too much cleavage. Then she made Tiffani wear the school vice principal's jacket the whole night. Keep in mind, the jacket didn't even cover up her décolletage. Tiffani ran into the girl's bathroom and began to cry. A dear friend decided to share a photo of Tiffani in her prom dress to explain what had happened. The post went viral with 11,000 shares and over 40,000 likes.

Perhaps what's most interesting is that the school district doesn't have any prom dress policy. Had there been, Tiffani might have chosen a different dress to avoid being humiliated in front of her classmates on what was supposed to be a special night. No other girls were singled out for their wardrobe but her. Even if Tiffani had violated some sort of policy, we are sure there is a kinder way to let her know than what this teacher said.
