During a 2012 taping of “The Ellen Show,” the talk show host convinced country singer Kellie Pickler to let her touch up her shaved head. Pickler said goodbye to her beautiful blonde locks in an act of solidarity after her best friend, Summer, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Like the good sport she is, Pickler obliged and sat down for a trim in front of a live studio audience.
But wait until you see what Ellen carves into the back of Kellie's head — and the singer's genuine reaction to Ellen's trimming mishap. She definitely needed to visit a professional stylist after Ellen's mangled job, but it doesn't stop the kindhearted singer from giving Ellen a huge surprise at the very end of the clip.
One YouTube commenter sums it up best: "Kellie was incredibly brave to shave her head in support for her sister with cancer. Losing your hair during chemotherapy has a major psychological impact on women, in particular. Our hair is very much associated with femininity."
