A 15-year-old hospice patient was treated to a private Florence and the Machine concert one day when she missed the group's concert in Austin, TX, because of her health.
Touching video shows lead singer Florence Welch sitting on Karinya's hospital bed at the Austin's Christopher House and serenading her. At certain moments, Karinya also sang along with Welch as she belted some of her famous tunes, including "Dog Days Are Over" (below) and "Shake It Out."
It's a beautiful moment that proves the true power of music, much like the time Rachel Platten performed "Fight Song" with a young cancer patient at a Los Angeles hospital. And the touching video quickly started going viral with more than 100,000 views on YouTube and several comments from viewers who were just as blown away by the moment.
"Hospice Austin's 15-year-old patient had long planned to go see Florence and the Machine with her BFF at the Austin360 Amphitheater; she was bitterly disappointed when her health prevented her from attending. So Florence came to her at Hospice Austin's Christopher House. Thank you, Florence, for your loving kindness, and for making our patient's day," the hospital shared on YouTube.
