Kittens are little balls of fluffy happiness. Some people may not like cats, because they either had a bad experience or they don't like their temperament. But kittens are different. They're almost always purring, they need to snuggle because they're so little, and they are just too cute.
My love of kittens may be biased, as I am a cat lady, but it's so hard to hear stories about abandoned kittens. It's very upsetting to hear about animals that have been abused. Luckily, the world has good people, too, like this NYPD officer who rescued a baby kitten from a very scary situation.
Mark works for the Upper Darby Township Sanitation Department. He was going about his day as unusual, when he went to load some trash into the back of his truck and spotted something unusual: a kitten! There was a little calico just tucked away amongst the trash.

“He noticed something was moving inside one of the bags. He opened the bag and found the kitten,” Justina Calgiano of Providence Animal Center told LoveMeow.
After realizing that she was in danger, Mark contacted Providence Animal Center, and they quickly took the little one in.
The poor kitten had been tossed into a bag, which was then sealed, and dumped into the trash. Providence Animal Center is currently looking for any information on who could have done something so horrific to this kitten.
Her name is Grundgetta, after Oscar the Grouch's girlfriend. The name fits perfectly!
Grundgetta is a very sweet, loving little kitten. She's only about 3 to 4 weeks old.
She is very popular already on Facebook, with many people offering to adopt her. Once she reaches 8 weeks, Grundgetta will be old enough for adoption!
Thankfully, she is now in a safe place and healthy! The little girl is being fostered by Jane, whom she is snuggling with in this photo, until she's big enough for her forever home!
Don't forget to SHARE Grundgetta's story with all of your friends and family!
