Instructables user ShopWalrus recently grew tired of wasting little crayon shards like these just because they'd become too small to hold.
She knew these crayon pieces could still be put to perfectly good use, if only she could figure out a way to make them easier to grasp.
So, she began concocting all sorts of different solutions, before settling on her adorable upcycling plan.
This clever DIY-er would throw all of her stray crayon bits into silicone molds and melt them into new, fun, multi-colored, Lego-shaped crayons.
Now, even if her crayons break into pieces, this crafty upcycler never wastes any bit of her precious, waxy pigment. She just throws her loose crayon bits into molds, melts them down, and carries on coloring to her heart's content.

Instructables user ShopWalrus recently found herself with a surplus of rouge crayons and crayon bits — some too small to grip for coloring, but still full of useful pigment.
Determined to make new use of these full crayons and crayon pieces, she searched for an upcycling solution.
Staring at a few Lego-shaped silicon mats, inspiration struck.
She would fill these little molds with her crayon shards and melt them down into funky new crayon creations.
This handy upcycler organized her loose crayons and crayon shards by color.
Then, she removed any lingering crayon labels.
Next, she wrapped the larger crayon clusters in plastic, and smashed them to bits.
She filled her Lego-shaped molds with the crayon shards.
Some molds she kept solid in color, whereas others, she chose to give a multi-colored look.
Then, she popped her molds into the oven, and watched as her crayons melted down into awesome new shapes.
Once her new Lego crayons cooled, she popped them out of their molds, and began coloring the day away.
By tapping into her creativity, this upcycler transformed simple crayons into adorable little Legos — taking coloring time to a whole new level.
