Kids who are battling ailments and illnesses are tough as nails, not unlike their favorite superheroes.
So it's only fitting that they have an emblem that signifies their power and their ability to fight villains, whatever they may be.
When they feel strong and confident, children can overcome insurmountable odds, even illnesses that would weigh on even the biggest, strongest grown-ups.
That was what Robyn Rosenberger thought during the inception of TinySuperheroes.
The root of this idea is simple: children battling illnesses are heroes, and heroes need capes.
Rosenberger was so inspired and driven to help kids in need, she even quit her technical support job to tackle the business full time!
Since then, she has been working to distribute capes to more children, and to encourage them to use their special powers to beat the bad guys inside their bodies.

Eager to make something special for her nephew's second birthday, Seattle-based Robyn Rosenberger broke out her sewing machine and made him a superhero cape.
She was so pleased with the outcome that she wanted to make more — this time, a doggy cape!
Rosenberger was happy to simply sew in her spare time — until she found a blog post one day about a little girl with Harlequin ichthyosis.
Suddenly, it clicked in her head that the sick little girl needed a cape of her own.
She reached out to the girl's mother and sent them her own specially made superhero cape.
This sparked the eventual inception of TinySuperheroes.
The service sends kids battling illnesses superhero capes to empower them.
Initially operating via social media, Rosenberger quickly became inundated with requests for capes.
But these lovingly handmade capes have a very special policy: "Buy a cape, give a cape."
This means that when someone buys a cape for themselves, they also sponsor a child on the waiting list, so they can receive one as well.
This helps to ensure that more people are able to become heroes regardless of the extremely high demand.
Though the capes seem simple in design, the response has been overwhelming, praising TinySuperheroes for making children feel more positive and powerful.
Once part of Rosenberger's "squad," these kids really do turn into heroes, battling the odds to defeat their own personal bad guys.
The colorful creations are making children feel like they are as powerful as their favorite heroes.
Through her amazing business, Rosenberger is putting smiles on more and more little superheroes' faces, one cape at a time.
You can buy a cape from her ever-expending enterprise here and help spread the superhero-powered sensation for more children in need.
