He Traces The Lid Of His Toilet Tank, Then Reveals An EPIC Money-Saving Trick…

Water is a precious resource, and our everyday lives are immersed in consuming it. Older toilets can use up to seven gallons of water with every flush. But the brilliant life hack you're about to see saves you money, gives you free water, and minimizes water consumption at the same time. This toilet hack makes use of the clean water before it's flushed into the bowl.

Instructables user gregorylavoie is here to show you a DIY project that allows you to "hack" a toilet by adding a sink to the top of the tank lid, thereby saving money on water. It's simple enough that anyone could build it with basic tools and materials. He tried to be material conscious with this project, so many of the materials are recycled from other things (sheet wood and copper tubing) or second-hand (metal bowl). The toilet is put together using screws and friction fittings, so when the sink has finished serving its purpose it can easily be taken apart and the parts can be recycled. We've seen some pretty incredible videos featuring the porcelain throne, but this one is the smartest and savviest ones yet.

This finished result is amazing, and you're also helping the environment and conserving water! By adding a sink to the top of a toilet, clean water is put to use before it gets flushed into the bowl.

Some of the materials needed for this project include sheet wood, copper tubing, a metal bowl, and caulking glue. All of the materials can be found at a hardware store.

The brilliant life hack allows homeowners to minimize some of that water consumption in an easy-yet-efficient way. Get ready to learn all the inner workings of a porcelain throne!

Here's another hacked toilet made by someone who was so inspired by Greg's post that he made his very own!
