When Kenzie was born, her mother put her in a cardboard box and left her near a train station. She was found and brought to an orphanage in Hunan, China. Fate would soon bring her to Chuck and his wife, Kim. The couple had miscarried their second son, but knew they still wanted to have children. A few years after adopting their first daughter, they heard that little girls in China were being orphaned and had difficulty finding forever homes.
Kim and Chuck fell in love with little Kenzie, but that was just the beginning of their journey together. As soon as they brought Kenzie into their kitchen, they noticed something spectacular.
There was a chime clock hanging on the wall. Kenzie mimicked the sound of the clock with perfect pitch. The little one continued to mimic the sounds around her. Eventually, this evolved into singing. Today, Kenzie sings all over the country to keep one amazing promise: She wants to use her voice to help other orphans like her.
"I honestly don't remember a time I never sang," Kenzie said. "I was an orphan and now I have a family and there are kids out there who are still an orphan and they don't have a family. I need to help them."
Thanks to Kim and Chuck, Kenzie has a loving home and is instilled with values that drive her to give back.
