On average, most people will agree that associating oneself with criminals is not advised. Those who have been to, or who are in jail, are generally considered to be outcasts of society, people who have ignored laws and rules of conduct and who are paying the price for it. In sum, they are not considered to be "good people."
But this is, perhaps, a gross misconception. Not all criminals, regardless of crime, are inherently bad. In a few cases, these men and women will still put the value of another's life above their own well-being. Just check out the footage of these Texas inmates: At first glance, the scene may look suspicious — but when you see the whole clip, you'll be convinced that these men only wanted to help a fellow human in need.
The camera catches a correctional officer, in the bottom right corner, keeping an eye on the inmates in a holding cell. Suddenly, he slumps over, and falls on the ground: This guard is suffering from a heart attack and needs immediate medical attention.
The inmates sense that something is wrong, and successfully break out of the holding cell. Then, they stand over him, screaming for help — but don't try to escape the prison. Not once.
Soon enough, other officers hear them and come to the guard's aid. Thanks to these prisoners, who risked punishment, this officer is alive and well!
Please SHARE if you think these inmates are kindhearted souls who did the right thing!
