I was talking to my parents the other day about plans for our next family vacation when my dad remarked how different traveling is now than compared to when he was a kid.
I grew up with the internet, but I do remember certain steps we had to take before traveling since we didn't have things like Google Maps quite yet. My family and I would go to the local AAA to get directions and brochures about our next destination, we'd hop in the car, and either rent a house or hotel.
Today, thanks to websites like Airbnb and Couchsurfing, vacationing has changed. Now, you connect with locals in their own homes or stay in unique places you never knew existed.
The options for where you want to go and how you get there seem endless. You don't have to settle for a small motel or rent a whole house. Now, you can take a much more unique approach to experiencing other places around the world, like with this incredible Amsterdam houseboat!
