A surprise proposal with kids involved isn’t always the best idea, but for this science teacher, his master plan ended up working out just fine.
At Leman Manhattan Preparatory School, this science teacher orchestrated a magnificent surprise proposal for his girlfriend Lily.
He trusted five sixth graders to help him carry out his intricate plan.
His plan included them pretending to do an experiment with microscopes until his girlfriend walked into the classroom, then signaling for the student with the special microscope to get excited and tell everyone to take a look at what he sees.
After he looks inside the microscope, he tells Lily to come on over and look at it as well. While she’s adjusting the scope to get a better look at what’s so exciting, the students go pick up the poster which asks the question “Will you marry me?”
This adorable surprise was unlike any proposal I’ve ever seen. It definitely kept me on my toes, watching this teacher go through the motions of acting like there’s something grotesque or unusual in this boy’s microscope.
But when Lily finally looks up with a look of disbelief and confusion, her boyfriend plops down to one knee, and you can tell she had no idea what was coming.
