Dik-diks are small antelope who only grow to be 30-40 cm tall…and they might just be the cutest animals ever. What do you think?
These majestic creatures live in the bushlands of eastern and southern Africa.
This is what a baby Dik-Dik looks like. Have you ever seen anything as precious as this sweetie?
Dik-diks live to be about ten years old in the wild.
Just like antelope, Dik-diks are herbivores. Their diet includes foliage, shoots, fruit and berries, but little or no grass.
These little guys are cute, so it’s hard to believe some other animals like to eat them. Dik-diks are hunted by lizards, caracals, lions, hyenas, wild dogs…and even humans.
Don’t worry though – Dik-diks’ have adapted to avoid their natural predators! They have keen eyesight, as well as awesome running skills and the ability to reach speeds up to 42 km per hour!
If given the chance, would you spend time with one of these little cuties?
