It's heartbreaking to hear that anyone has to spend an extended time at the hospital. No matter what their age, young or old, the idea of someone sitting in a bed all day is something that just seems so awful for the person it's happening to.
But when you hear that a small child has to have an extended stay in the hospital? It honestly doesn't seem like it can be any worse than that.
Children are meant to be playing outside with their friends, exploring the world and learning new things; not be cooped up in a lonely room waiting for more checkups and tests.
Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect room, and for many children, this is simply the way things are. No matter what disease they might be going through, it's heartbreaking to know that they're not experiencing the same things their peers are going through.
Luckily, for one little girl fighting off cancer, it seems as if her nurses make sure to give her the time and patience she deserves. Though she might be a little weak from the chemo, when these two nurses walk in on a completely normal and somewhat boring afternoon, her face lights up when she suddenly hears her favorite song begin to play!
The nurses, two gentle and beautiful souls, share a little dance and sing-along with their favorite patient. It's so wonderful to see it firsthand that there are still so many good people in the world!
