Cassandra Lin is a young recipient of the 2013 Brower Youth Award Winner, a national organization showcasing outstanding achievements and activism.

When Cassandra was just a child, she and her classmates lobbied her small Rhode Island town's council to create a station where used cooking oil can be turned into biofuel. Today, she has dozens of local restaurants donating oil, which is then re-purposed to heat the homes of underprivileged and struggling families in her neighborhood.
