Matt Strutzman is one of the top archers in the entire world. Matt was born without arms.
He doesn't need his arms to be an expert archer. Instead, Matt uses his feet, and by doing this practice, he's been able to make record books.
Matt currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest, most accurate shot. Being born without arms led Matt to learn how to do everything using his feet or without the use of hands.
He credits his parents for his success, as his family always let him try anything he wanted to. On his website, he says that they believed as long as he could do it on his own, why not let him? That mindset has gotten him to the top!
He first taught himself how to shoot a bow and arrow when he was unemployed. He gained his archery skills while he practiced hunting. He took those practices and applied them to competitive archery.
In 2012, he was a member of the U.S. Paralympic Archery Team. While representing USA on the team, he won silver at the Games! He is also a member of the 2016 USA Paralympic Team.
