When I am 100 years old, I hope I can celebrate my birthday any way that I want to.
Percy Skinner celebrated his 100th birthday by getting his biggest wish. Nearly 70 years after he learned how to fly a plane, Percy wanted to get back in the cockpit.
When he was just a little boy working in the fields, he would see airplanes fly overhead, and he always wanted to learn how to fly on his own. A few years later, he finally got his wish for the first time!
In 1943, Percy first learned how to fly. But it has been many years since he was in a cockpit at the helm of the plane.
Apparently, flying an airplane is like riding a bike, and it comes right back to you, no matter how many years it has been.
Percy clearly has a handle on everything and proves that his age is just a number, and it doesn't have to dictate your life. He didn't want to just get in the plane, he wanted to taxi, take off, and land the plane! You can see how happy he is in the video below.
