When you were 11 years old, what were you up to? Probably finishing up the fifth or sixth grade (depending on when you turned 12) and not doing much else? Me too!
Capri Everitt just sang the national anthem at a Major League Baseball game and gave everyone in the stadium chills.
But that isn't the coolest thing about Capri. She has sung the national anthem 80 times in the last nine months. But not just our national anthem, she has learned many more.
Capri has sung the national anthem in 80 countries, in 41 different languages. She's been singing so much as a part of her quest to complete Around The World In 80 Anthems.
The journey is meant to raise money for disadvantaged children — any child that has been affected by war, poverty, climate change, or bad circumstances.
Her challenge to travel the world has been in an effort to raise at least $1 million through SOS Children's Villages International. The charity works in 134 different countries and helps 540 children's villages.
It wasn't just a simple task. She not only needed to learn all the words to each anthem, she had to learn what the words meant so she could sing the anthem as truthfully as possible.
