One group of kayakers thought that they had stumbled upon a mama humpback whale nursing her baby. But they didn't realize what a treat they were in for!
When they realized what she was doing, they stayed at a distance to give her some privacy. For over 30 minutes, they watched the little family.
The folks at Wildcoast Adventures caught the tender moment on camera. But the biggest surprise of the day came after Mom was done!
They never expected Mom to breach the water. Following in his mother's suit, the baby also jumped out of the water. They were greeting the new guests!
You can see the amazing moment in the video below, as not only did they capture this video, the folks on the boats surrounding them also got when these whales gracefully emerged from the water on camera.
As humpback whales are not little animals, Wildcoast Adventures wants to make sure everyone is aware of how far away they were when they captured this video. You need to be as far back as 100 meters, at least!
