Driving is something that we, sometimes, forget can be extremely dangerous.
Whether you're driving or are just a passenger, things can become deathly within seconds.
And for this young mom and her 8-month-old baby, everything became just that.
As Jennifer Duncan was driving her son to day care on her way to work, she got into a minor accident on the highway.
When she pulled over, she got out of the car. Another car then pulled up near them to shield them from on coming traffic.
But unfortunately, that shield backfired. Another passing vehicle rear-ended it and sent Jennifer and her baby off of the highway bridge, 30 feet down.
Jennifer acted as a human cocoon to protect her baby, and she succeeded. Miraculously, the child emerged with nothing more than a scratch.
But she was not so lucky herself. Jennifer is now going to have to have her leg amputated, and her life changed forever. The medical expenses she will face, along with pain and suffering, are unimaginable.
Her family has created a GoFundMe account because they know how long and hard this lifestyle change is going to be. This mom is her baby's true hero, she saved his life and sacrificed her own. It's something all mothers are expected to do, but most mothers never have to make the choice to.
