Husband Tells Wife To Remember Their Wedding Day, Then They Die Holding Hands

Sometimes love is fast, passionate, and then it's over. But there is a different kind of love, the kind you only hear about in movies and books. Margaret and Don Livengood had that kind of love.

They were together for 59 years, and I am sure their daughter, Pattie Beaver believes they're still in another life. Margaret was battle cancer, while Don was struggling with pulmonary fibrosis.

The couple knew the end was near but that didn't make it any easier. After four days apart, doctors thought it better to put Margaret's bed into Don's room. They turned their beds so that they could face each other.

Don was coming to terms with his final moments, but Margaret, understandably, was apprehensive. Then he told his wife something special. He held his wife's hands and did not let go for a single second.

"'When we get to heaven, we can walk in together, just like we're getting married again. Another honeymoon,'" Beaver recalls her father saying to Margaret.

And that's exactly what happened. Together they faced the end. First Margaret passed away at 8 AM, then Don at 5PM, but he held her hand even as he let go.

"This is one of those cases I don't think any of us is ever going to forget. Seeing these two people who had spent their lives together, together in the same room as they took their last breaths, none of us are ever going to forget this," said the couple's doctor, Dr. Randy Schisler.

Some of us can only hope to get a small dose of the kind of love Margaret and Don had. May they rest in peace together.
