In 2007, a young mother named Jessica was diagnosed with a condition that can cause frequent fainting. With a 3-year-old daughter and another baby on the way, Jessica knew she couldn't take any chances with her health.
Jessica decided to make up a simple song called "911 Green," just in case disaster struck and she needed her daughter Madelyn to call for help. One morning, Jessica's blood pressure in her brain suddenly dropped. She collapsed on the floor in front of Madelyn. That's when Madelyn remembered her mother’s song about how to dial 911 from her phone. She was connected to an amazing dispatcher who led the little girl through questions about her house and cars outside. Emergency workers arrived to the home, and Madelyn waved them down out front of her house. Jessica recovered without injury.
The most touching moment comes at the end of the video, when we meet Shelly — the 911 dispatcher who answered Madelyn's call. She's brought to tears by the experience, and says, "In my opinion, Madelyn's a huge hero. Madelyn is the biggest hero I've ever met in my life."
Every child should know how to call 911 should an emergency arise, and Jessica is brilliant for coming up with such a kid-friendly song. If you agree, please SHARE this incredible story with your friends on Facebook!
