Like any bodybuilder, Jacques Sayagh spends his days working on his physique. His workout regime includes lifts, bicep curls, and pushups.
The only difference between him and other bodybuilders, like Eddie Hall, who recently broke a deadlift record, is the fact that the French man is homeless.
"People do not understand why I sleep on the floor, but I never feel cold," he said in a film by Julien Goudichaud. "I knew drugs. I slept with prostitutes. In the morning, you see corpses, thieves, people who want to fight with knives, but I always had a sporting spirit."
Despite living on the streets with his adorable pooch by his side, Sayagh makes sure his muscles are up to par. And, although suffering from a failing liver, Sayagh focuses on competing in bodybuilding competitions.
“When I see that I have a beautiful body, it’s great,” he said. “Especially when you’re 50 years old.”
The video below combines Goudichaud’s powerful footage of Sayagh along with a motivational voiceover from singer/actor Tyrese Gibson urging people to stop making excuses and focus on getting healthy.
"We are being raised in a generation of people that come up with every excuse in their book as to why they are not winning," Gibson says. "Excuses sound best to the people that are making them up."
