Don't you just love surprise marriage proposals? Guys are getting pretty creative when it come to popping the question these days. Remember the guy who surprised his girlfriend at the movies or the sea lion who helped pull off one of the craziest proposals ever?!
Well this proposal is no different. Wanting to pop the question in the same spot where they took their first picture together — the Universal globe — Derek Sanford smartly enlisted the help of the staff at the park to help him pull of the perfect surprise proposal.
Planning to take his girlfriend Sammy-Jo to the globe for a picture before heading to dinner, Joe asks a well-placed "stranger" to take a picture of the two of them. Of the incognito park employee, Derek said, "I had my faux park guest on standby waiting for me to come ask her if she could take a photo of us." It was at that moment when he was able to retrieve the ring, which he'd hidden in the camera's flash diffuser.
When he got back to Sammy-Jo he surprised her by getting down on one knee and proposing! He even had a heartfelt speech written down. Safe to say, Sammy-Jo was definitely surprised and of course accepted Derek's proposal. They kissed and the crowd went wild!
What a great team at Universal for helping this guy pull off one of the sweetest proposals I have ever seen.
