One of the best parts about football season is enjoying the pre-game parties, and tailgating is a great excuse to get together with friends, cheer on your favorite team, and enjoy some delicious food.
While chicken wings and beer may be the go-to snack on game day, I'm always looking to put a twist on traditional recipes; so when I discovered recipes for Bite-Sized Pizza Poppers and Cheesy Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots, I just had to try them out. The best part is, whether you're at the big game or throwing a party at home, you can make these mouthwatering recipes in a snap.
When I was finished making these game day snacks, everyone wanted to see if they tasted as good as they looked and smelled. The verdict? People couldn't get enough!
Of course, anyone who has participated in tailgating parties knows that they can get messy, especially when trying to juggle your beverage in one hand and food in the other. That's why I'm so obsessed with the Snackeez Duo. It allows me and my fellow fans to carry drinks around with limited spills, and it also has a hidden container for placing snacks. I love how easy it is to carry everything with this one amazing product. (You can purchase the Snackeez Duo at Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walgreens, Toys R Us, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Kroger and Fred Meyer.)

Get game day started with delicious Pizza Poppers. To make, you'll need crescent rolls, mozzarella cheese, slices of pepperoni, a green pepper, and pizza sauce.
Unwrap the crescent roll package and separate into triangles. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the mozzarella on each rectangle and top with chopped green peppers.
Layer pepperoni on top of cheese and peppers. (If you're vegetarian or don't like pepperoni, you can get creative and use any of your favorite pizza toppings instead.)
Then, tightly roll up the dough and cut into smaller pieces (like sushi!); place poppers on a baking sheet and bake at 350 °F for 10 minutes.
Remove pizza poppers from the oven when the crescent roll dough is cooked through and pale brown.
Fill your Snackeez Duo cup with your favorite beverage.
Place the poppers in the cup top and serve with warm pizza sauce.
Next is the ultimate game day snack: pigskins in a blanket. To make these, you'll need crescent dinner rolls, cocktail-size sausages, and yellow mustard from a squeeze bottle.
Unroll both cans of dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 smaller, narrow triangles. Place 1 sausage on the thin point of each triangle and roll up.
Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375 °F for 14 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool for 2 minutes. Squeeze mustard crosswise and lengthwise to make football laces.
Finally, score a touchdown with your friends and family with the ultimate appetizer: cheesy bacon-wrapped tater tots!
To make these, cut a slit into the center of a partially defrosted tater tot. Then, slide a chunk of sharp cheddar cheese into the middle.
Lay out a half-slice of bacon. Place a tater tot onto the bacon and wrap the bacon tightly around.
Secure with a toothpick and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 450 °F for about 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels to rid these little bites of any excess fat.
Serve immediately!
