Katharine McPhee And David Foster Share Photos From Their ‘Perfect’ Wedding Day

Katharine McPhee and David Foster have made it official! The couple exchanged vows in London on June 28 in a picture-perfect event. The ceremony took place at the Church of St. Yeghiche in South Kensington. Dinner followed at an undisclosed upscale venue in Mayfair. Now the newlyweds are sharing scenes from their special day with the public.

Katharine and David's marriage comes after a longtime connection to one another. Their friendship began when David served as a mentor to Katharine in her American Idol days. David was even a guest at Katharine's first wedding to Nick Cokas in 2008, where he played piano as Katharine serenaded her then-husband.

Several splits later, the two found happiness in each other. They were first spotted publicly in May 2017 at Nobu in Malibu. Later that year, David's daughter Erin confirmed the relationship, joking that she was "excited about my new stepmom" in an Instagram Stories post. In July 2018, Katharine shared news of their engagement. Now the couple is enjoying their happily ever after, including a beautiful honeymoon in Italy.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster seem like an odd couple to some because of their age difference. That doesn't stop the 35-year-old actress/singer and the 69-year-old record executive from enjoying their love out in the open.

What many people aren't aware of is how long the two have had a connection. They first met and formed a friendship in 2006. Katharine was a contestant on season five of American Idol. David and Andrea Bocelli stopped by to mentor Katharine on her performance of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing," which David wrote.

Her first single following her runner-up finish on Idol was a rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." David produced that single 13 years to the day before the couple was married, as Katharine reflected on in an Instagram post hours before their wedding.

David continued to mentor Katharine as she explored all her career could offer her. He even played piano at her first wedding to Nick Cokas in February 2008 as she serenaded her then-husband with Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable."

Katharine and Nick divorced in 2014 after a year of separation. By 2017, she had gotten out of another relationship. Around that time, David's divorce from his fourth wife, Yolanda Hadid, had been finalized.

Katharine and David were first romantically linked in May 2017 after being seen enjoying a PDA-filled date at Nobu in Malibu. The relationship wasn't confirmed until later that fall when David's daughter Erin shared a photo of the couple.

In July 2018, Katharine took to Instagram to share that she and David had gotten engaged. The moment proved to be bittersweet, however. Katharine shared the news with her dad in their last conversation before he passed away.

David and Katharine tied the knot on June 28. The couple exchanged vows at the Church of St. Yeghiche in South Kensington, London. Katharine looked stunning in the first of her Zac Posen dresses, while David stuck to a classic tuxedo.

Katharine went through a whopping three outfit changes on her special day. The first dress was a wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and striped tulle. The second was an off-the-shoulder full-length gown, which she changed into before dinner.

The third dress was a smokey pale blue tea-length dress. Katharine changed into the gown before the couple cut their beautiful rose-adorned wedding cake. They cut the cake with a sword, drawing laughter from their group of guests.

The two haven't only shared photos from their wedding. Now that they're on their honeymoon, they're sharing moments from the getaway as well. Katharine shared a photo of the couple exchanging a kiss while on the water.

David also shared a photo of the two of them. They look casual as they hang out waterside. David wore a purple button-down and striped shorts, while Katharine wore a black floral Zimmerman dress and red sandals.

Katharine's latest photo shows just her in front of a setting sun, leaning on a rail. In the caption, she jokes about her husband's Instagram photo-taking skills: "rate @davidfoster’s Instagram husband skills from 1-10 in the comments section ."

The couple seems nothing short of happy together in their various photos. The love from their family and friends is a beautiful foundation for the next chapter of their lives together. Congratulations to the happy couple!
