You really have to be a pretty special person if you join the United States Marines. You need to be the kind of person who is willing to fight and die for your country, you need to be someone who can be battle-ready even though you're running off of three hours sleep over a four-day period, you need to be fit, brave, smart, and fast — but above all else you need to have the emotional strength to take things one day at a time.
While there are a lot of people out there who view our nation's military men and women as mindless warriors, the video below shows off their amazing sense of humor. These Marines are an elite group of people, who can sit in a cold wet foxhole for hours and hours on end, all while somehow managing to crack a silly joke just to keep things exciting and fresh.
The video below begins with two Marines being silly and dancing to Lady Gaga's famous hit song "Bad Romance." The funniest aspect isn't even the Marines dancing, it's the Afghani soldier who, leaning against a tree, stares at them trying not to laugh. The look on his face at the :25 mark says it all! It's amazing to see these two cultures collide, and it's all thanks to these three hilarious dancing marines who don't care how silly they look!
Sometimes it's healthy to let loose and have some fun; when you're out in enemy territory for weeks on end it's good for everyone's heads to take a bit of a break and just dance! Luckily, guards were posted all around the perimeter, so none of these guys were nervous about receiving any enemy fire, they knew this was a great moment to mess around and bond with each other as friends!
