Prince George Looks So Grown Up Celebrating His 6th Birthday In The Caribbean With His Family

Prince George is growing up so fast! Prince William and Kate Middleton's oldest son is turning 6 on July 22. The future king has some big plans to ring in his birthday, including some time away with the family and a fun-filled friend party. The Cambridges will return to Mustique for a family getaway, according to the Sun. They rang in George's birthday on the island last year, with Carole and Mike Middleton, Kate's parents, joining them, as well as sister Pippa and her husband, James.

Before their Caribbean getaway, it seems like an old-fashioned birthday party may also be in the works. Us Weekly is reporting that William and Kate have been hard at work planning a birthday bash for the prince and his schoolmates. The festivities will take place at Kensington Palace, where the family resides. The party will reportedly include a bouncy house and a magician to entertain the little ones.

The youngest generation of royals is growing up fast! It was just about six years ago when that new generation began with the birth of George Alexander Louis, better known as Prince George. The oldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton was born on July 22, 2013, at 4:24 p.m.

Prince George's birth marked a special moment for the royal family. He's the third great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth, but he became the future of the monarchy. George is third in the line of succession to this throne, following his father and grandfather.

As the little boy gears up to celebrate his sixth birthday, he's got a fun-filled summer ahead. It's believed that the family will return to the Caribbean island of Mustique for a vacation. The island has a lot of special meaning to the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth's sister, Princess Margaret, was gifted a 10-acre piece of the island. She built a vacation home there, Les Jolies Eaux. It served as a safe haven for her when her marriage to Antony Armstrong-Jones was in trouble in the 1970s.

William and Kate got away to the island for a babymoon ahead of Prince George's birth. It's become the family's go-to vacation destination. Kate's parents, Carole and Mike Middleton, and her sister, Pippa, often join them during the summer holiday.

They celebrated George's birthday in Mustique last year. He and Princess Charlotte soaked up the sun and learned how to swim in the island's crystal-clear waters while mom, dad, and a very young Prince Louis watched.

If you're hoping to see some pictures from the Cambridges' island getaway, you're out of luck. The island is well-known for its super-tight security. The island has its own police and security force, headed by former Scotland Yard Chief Simon Humphrey. Visitors must register with security in advance to ensure the privacy of all guests.

William and Kate are expected to release a new portrait of George ahead of his birthday. We've been seeing quite a bit of the little prince, however. He was spotted just last week spending time with his siblings and new cousin Archie while William and Harry played in a charity polo match.

An island getaway isn't all that's in store for George's sixth birthday. Us Weekly is reporting that there's also a big birthday bash in the works for George and his schoolmates and younger siblings at Kensington Palace.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have gone all out to organize a birthday party for George,” a royal insider explains to Us Weekly. Kate has been very hands-on in the planning and "has done most of the organizing herself."

What will a bunch of kids do around Kensington Palace? According to the source, the royals will be outfitting the place with an awesome bouncy castle. There will also be a magician, an idea William contributed, knowing George's love of magic.

There will also be food fit for a little king! William and Kate have hired a caterer to provide George's favorite foods. "Kate’s asked them to make pizza, pasta, and sliders." Dessert will consist of cake, cupcakes, candy, and ice cream.

It sounds like a summer full of fun for George before he returns to school at Thomas's Battersea in London. The upcoming school year will feature a new addition, as Princess Charlotte will begin attending the school as well.

It's such a joy to watch the youngest royals grow up before our very eyes. George seems to be the best mix of both his parents. He appears to be a smart, loving young boy with a little bit of a mischievous streak. We hope he enjoys his birthday celebrations!
