I Could Watch This Fantastic North Korean Gymnastic Troupe All Day Long

These little cuties sure know how to put on an impressive show and have fun at the same time. I'm blown away by their talent!

Staged in the Children’s Palace in Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, this has to be seen to be believed. If you were amazed by this rhythmic gymnast, then this performance will really knock your socks off!

Even though these girls can’t be much older than ten, they are clearly consummate professionals with finely honed abilities. It’s not totally clear who they were performing for, but it’s likely that the gymnastic display was staged as a companion performance to the Arirang Games.

The Arirang Games, also known as the Mass Games, are a North Korean tradition involving enormously complex acrobatic displays featuring hundreds of individuals. These shows of accomplishment are one of the few North Korean venues that allow tourists and reporters from the outside world.

While there's a slight propaganda vibe and some vaguely spooky carnival music, I am incredibly impressed with these girls and their spectacular abilities. They flip, dance, and hula-hoop with ease, creating complex patterns and displays just like these world-class swimmers.

Their sparkly outfits are downright adorable, and the crowd seems to be loving the show! Best of all, that plot twist a minute-and-a-half in took everyone by surprise, including me!

Are you as amazed by these gifted children as we are? Please SHARE with your friends, and let us know which part you liked the most!
