There are two kinds of people in the world: those who want to go bungee-jumping, and those who would never, under any circumstances, want to go bungee-jumping. I fall into the latter camp.
Fortunately, there are lots of admirably tough people out there making up for the chickens like me. For every time I’ve flatly refused to ride a roller coaster, there’s somebody jumping out of an airplane like this adventurous 100-year-old!
Needless to say, every time I watch video footage of this kind of heart-stopping excursion, my immediate reaction is gratitude for the solid ground under my feet. My second reaction is a vague sense of regret, because the people who complete these daredevil adventures must feel so accomplished when they’re done!
Once they’re past that initial jaw-dropping adrenaline rush, I bet there’s nothing cooler in the whole world than hanging over the top of a cliff, looking at everything laid out around you. Granted, I might prefer to experience the cliffside life from a slightly more luxurious vantage point like this one.
So when I watched this video, I felt a lot of sympathetic terror, and a very slight twinge of jealousy. Though she doesn’t necessarily look too enthusiastic at the beginning of her escapade, she goes through with it. And you have to imagine that the view at the end is worth the jump, especially after such a near miss!
