Mick Jagger And Tina Turner Heat Up The Stage In Their 1985 Live Aid Performance

I can't believe I've never seen this performance before! 30 years ago Mick Jagger gets on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans but when he is joined by this legendary singer things heat up!

The mash up between Mick Jagger and Tina Turner may seem a little strange to some but the two are old pals from way back.

Tina first toured with the Rolling Stones in England in 1966. She didn't even know who they were and though Tina and Mick were an odd pair, the two formed a fast friendship through dance.

"I didn't know who the Stones were," Tina told People in 1981. "Mick was the one who was always standing in the wings watching us. He was a little shy of me, but finally we started having fun and I tried to teach him some dances, because he'd just stand still onstage with the tambourine. He'd try things like the Pony or some hip movements backstage and we'd all just laugh."

"I learned a lot of things from Tina," Mick said. Tina and Mick would perform together for decades after but it was their 1985 Live Aid performance that swept the nation.

Classic performances like this always stand the test of time, just check out this clip of Aretha Franklin performing "Chain of Fools," and tell me it's outdated? I don't think so.

The two perform “State of Shock” and “It’s Only Rock ‘N Roll (But I Like It)" together. The chemistry between the old friends is electric, each elevates the other just a little bit more!
